Do adjustments hurt?

No, generally adjustments don’t hurt. The objective of the adjustment is to restore correct movement to the area being adjusted and to create more ease in the body. However, some patients who see us are in a lot of pain, and therefore because they are in pain already, the positions required to give the adjustments can be slightly uncomfortable at first.

How Will I Feel Afterwards?

Most people feel great after their first Chiropractic adjustment. You can often feel achy like you have been to the gym. This is because the muscles are working more as the joints they are attached to are now moving more

What is the cracking noise?

Adjustments do not always make a noise, they are just a fun side effect that sometimes occurs. This is release of gas, like a bubble of air popping in the fluid sac of a joint, as it moves when being adjusted.

Do I need to remove any clothing for my appointment?

No, for routine adjustments you will not need to remove clothing apart from coats, belts and shoes. However it may be more comfortable to be in loose fitting clothes. For your Initial Consultation, tighter, gym type clothing is ideal to help with the accuracy of the posture assessment.

Why are appointments so quick?

We understand that everyone lives busy lives these days, and trying to fit your chiropractic appointment in can be another tricky juggling act. So to avoid people having to compromise on care, our appointments only take a short amount of time. These are however very specific and effective. We believe in doing absolutely what is necessary to get your body functioning better, no more and no less. It will never feel rushed, just specific and to the point.

What is open plan adjusting?

Open plan adjusting is where the adjustments are delivered in a communal area. The purpose of this is to enhance community and focus on getting well, as opposed to focusing on the problem. It also allows the chiropractor to enter the flow state when going from one patient to the next, enhancing skill level so you can receive a higher level of professional care. You stay fully clothed for your adjustments and there are regular private ‘review’ appointments booked every so often to monitor and manage your progress.

Do I Need An X-Ray or MRI?

This is assessed on a case by case basis but routinely most of the people that come to see us do not require either to start care. Should you be one of the people that do, we can arrange this for you. We also analyse and report on your x-ray when it has been taken. We refer MRI images to specialists to analyse and report on.

Are chiropractors real doctors?

Chiropractors hold an honourary Doctor of Chiropractic title. They gain this through a minimum of 4 years university masters education and as primary health care professionals.

Are chiropractors registered?

Yes, following the 1994 Chiropractors Act. To call yourself a chiropractor in the UK you need to be qualified and registered with the General Chiropractic Council. All chiropractors at In Flow are qualified and registered.

How Much Will It Cost?

We give all our patients clear pricing in your results session. We offer many options to pay, so that you can afford your care over a time frame that suits you best.

Will my insurance cover this?

In Flow is dedicated to delivering the best service to our patients, so we do not deal directly with insurance companies. However, we are happy to provide all the necessary reports and receipts needed for you to make a claim.

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is all about helping you function to your absolute best. Whether you are in pain or not, whether you are healthy or sick. Chiropractic is the art of removing any interferences within your body to allow it to do what it does best; which is to heal and thrive. Those who want to get the most out of their body and life, choose regular chiropractic care.

Chiropractic works by helping improve how your spine and nervous system is working. As we know, the brain and nervous system control and coordinate every single function of the body, and with that the body has an innate ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Chiropractic works with the spine and skull to remove any pressure or interference upon the brain and nervous system; most commonly from the spine not functioning optimally. Thereby allowing the body to reconnect and work to its best ability.

Chiropractic is for everybody, from newborn babies to those nearing their time on this planet. It is never too late to start your chiropractic journey and certainly it is never too early.

Chiropractic helps to get the sick people well and keep the well people at their best.
