Struggling to keep on track with your fitness plans?

Struggling to keep on track with your fitness plans? Now that the clocks have gone back, and the weather has taken a turn for the worse it’s understandable why you may be finding it difficult to motivate yourself. But don’t worry, here are five tips to help you stay on track achieve your fitness plans.

1 – Set a goal

Yes, it’s cold outside so motivate yourself by setting a goal. Once set put up a picture or motivational phrase in a place you’ll see it every day, to remind yourself why you want to stay on track.

2 – Track your progress

Use a fitness watch, download a fitness app, or mark every day you exercise on your kitchen calendar. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of looking back at how far you’ve come to make you want to keep going.

3 – Socialise

Arrange to exercise with a friend.  It’s more fun with a friend or colleague, and you’ll feel bad about cancelling on them, so it’ll help you both.

4 – Listen up

A good soundtrack helps, so put one together or select one from your music streaming service? Don’t forget to change it on a regular basis so you don’t get tired of it.

5 – Exercise indoors
If you really can’t face going outdoors then there are lots of exercises you can do at home to get an efficient and challenging workout.  Simply walk up and down the stairs, shadow box, use that treadmill or simply use tins of food for a bit of weight training.

So, move today and every day even if it’s just a 10-minute walk around the block to stimulate your spine and brain, allowing it to do what it does best, which is to take care of itself!
